Learn to Mush Fun Race for Children With Special Needs
Autism Alaska is hosting a one day learn to mush fun race for Children with Special Needs. On Saturday, March 22 forty children from the Mat-Su Valley with disabilities ranging from autism, FAS, MRDD, visually impaired, downs syndrome, and cystic fibrosis (just to name a few) will participate in the first annual Mat-Su Mini Mushers Challenge. The Aurora Dog Mushers as well as local area mushers will be volunteering their dogs, sleds, equipment and instruction. Iditarod mushers will be on hand to give out the awards. Food and drinks will be available. There will be an Easter egg hunt for the younger mushers. The fun begins at 11:00 at the Aurora Dog Mushers track in Big Lake. Just follow the signs. Hope to see you there! For more information contact Trisha @ 841-RACE Autism Alaska is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization with the mission of providing resources for effective treatment for Alaska’s children with Autism Spectrum Disorders. My name is Trisha Kolegar, 2000 Iditarod Sled Dog Race finisher and proud mother of six year old Timothy, who suffers from the devastating disorder of autism. I am the co-founder and director of Autism Alaska, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization designed to help provide resources for effective treatment for Alaska’s autistic children.
But we can’t do it alone. We need your help!
You can help a family struggling with the exorbitant costs of an autism treatment program by making a tax deductible donation to Autism Alaska. All of the money donated to Autism Alaska will go directly to families in need.
Together, we can conquer autism one child at a time!
